Operations & Project Management


You’ll explore the principles of contemporary operations and project management in this module. In doing so, you’ll evaluate the inherent tension between managing ‘business as usual’ and change. You’ll also examine how these systems of management can contribute to the strategic success of their organisation.

  • to equip students with the knowledge and skills to manage complex organisations that use a combination of Project and Operations management tools and techniques to achieve their strategy
  • to explain the methods of Operations Management and illustrate these can be used to support strategic success
  • to introduce the system of Project Management and illustrate it can be used to support strategic success
  • to demonstrate how the methods of Operations Management and Project Management can be integrated to create an effective organisational control system that supports strategic success
