Nikitas Despotidis


Mr. Nikitas Despotidis holds a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng.), from Dept. of Electrical Engineering & Computer Technology, School of Engineering, University of Patras (Greece), from which he received a scholarship for his outstanding performance. He received a Diploma of the Imperial College (DIC) in Control Systems, and in 1990 graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Med, with a Master in the same field (M.Sc. in Control Systems). He also received a scholarship from the British Science & Engineering Research Council (SERC) for doing the MSc at Imperial College. Furthermore he holds an MBA from the Graduate Business School of the University of Strathclyde.

He has started his professional career at EIS Hellas Ltd, working as a Software Systems Engineer and then moved to BULL S.A. to work as an IT Consultant. He continued his career working for two years as a Sales Support Specialist for Digital Equipment Hellas (DEC) S.A./ Compaq Computer Greece, where he stayed for another three years working as a Major Accounts Manager and then as a Sales Manager. His next step was at Hewlett Packard Hellas where he has been employed as a Sales Manager; since 2004 he works as a Sales Director in the same company for Greece and Cyprus.

He has been financially awarded and received the Acknowledgement of Excellent Academic Performance from the Technical Chamber of Greece. He was awarded with the Certificate of Appreciation and a souvenir plaque, by the Commander of the USAF Unit in Araxos, for leading a project regarding the lightning protection system in the heavy weapons area. Moreover, he has received The Compaq Pinnacle Club Award twice, for exceptional sales performance.

He is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and of Hellenic Management Association (EEDE). In addition, he is a Member of the Board of Directors, VP – IT Service Management Forum (itSMF) Greek Chapter and a Member of the Greek Alumni Association of Imperial College.
