How long does the programme take to complete?
The degree is run on a part-time basis and takes around 2-2 1/2 years to complete. It is intended for those who are working full-time.
How much tutorial support is provided?
There are sessions and workshops held at convenient times to suit the busy professional. On average there is usually one evening session every week and one weekend per month. Attendance is not always compulsory and students can use the Strathclyde study support packs to complete the programme via distance learning.
Is the degree awarded identical to that given in the UK?
Yes, both the course and the degree, which is awarded are identical to that offered in the UK (as a matter of fact the degree offered upon successful completion does not mention Athens at all). The University is responsible for assessment and admission to ensure that the same high academic standards apply in Greece as in the UK.
Do I have to visit the UK?
There is no need to visit the UK as the entire programme is provided in Athens. Academic staff from the University visit Greece for weekend seminars and the examinations are held locally. Students can if they wish, attend the graduation ceremony in the UK.
Is the Strathclyde MBA an accredited programme?
Yes, the Strathclyde MBA is triple accredited (one of only 35 business schools world-wide). It is accredited by AMBA – the Association of MBAs, by EQUIS - The European Foundation for Management Development, and by the AACSB – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Is the Strathclyde MBA ranked?
Yes, it ranks very highly in all major rankings:
According to the latest Financial Times MBA 2009 ranking of the top 100 global MBA programmes, the Strathclyde MBA ranks 41st. According to the same survey, the Strathclyde Business School ranks 3rd best in the world for corporate strategy. What are the entry requirements for the programme?
Applicants will need to have a good first degree, at least 3 years working experience and be 24 years or over. Applicants who may not fulfil this criteria are invited to talk to the local representative in Greece as entry may be gained onto the programme depending on the applicants background.
How many intakes are there per year?
We have two intakes per year, one in April and one in October. Applications are constantly being accepted.
What is the full cost of the MBA?
The full cost of the MBA is €16.500 and is payable in 4 instalments over 2 years. Students can choose to pay the total amount in advance in which case the cost is €15.500. In case it is of interest to your company, we do work with the LAEK/OAED 0,45 scheme.
Are all the materials included in the price?
Yes, students receive specially designed Strathclyde learning materials, as well as all necessary textbooks. The learning materials include fully comprehensive notes, CD’s and videos. Also students gain access to a specially developed University Internet Site, which has a huge range of resources including a specially designed internet site. The large electronic library makes it possible to download from hundreds of management journals.
